Introduction to Mirza Ghalib College, Gaya

Mirza Ghalib College, Gaya was established in 1969. The College is managed by it's Supreme Body, Council Mirza Ghalib College, Gaya, (A society registered under Societies Registration Act, 1860.) and govern by Governing Body comprising 11 members. The College is recognized by the State Govt. as a deficit-grant Post-graduate Minority college.
The College has huge infrastructure with sufficient class rooms, central library, common room, labs, computer centre, administrative section, separate departmental chambers and seminar libraries besides adequate civic and support facilities and indoor games facilities.
There are 19 UG, 12 PG and 3 Vocational courses. Total enrolment in different courses is around 9000 with approximately 60% girl students.
The College has a excellent success rate in various examinations. College sports team also has been bagging trophies and awards at the Inter-university tournaments. There is an active unit of NSS which participates in local social activities and environment protection programmes.
The College has distinction in organizing academic, literary and cultural functions at regular intervals. Faculty members are actively engaged in research activities. A good number of teachers have been participating in conferences, seminars and orientation courses. Research papers are published by faculty members. Several teachers are supervising research scholars for award of Ph.D. degree.
Students are provided financial supports for continuing their education. They are provided opportunity to develop life skill and communication skill.
